16-19 September 2020: Vienna to Mariazell: 110 km in 4 days

Description: Four days long walk on the most famous pilgrim road in Austria, from the outskirts of Vienna to Mariazell. Our route is approximately 110 kilometres

Route: 16 September: Rodaun – Kammersteinerhuette – Heiligenkreuz (lunch) – Weissenbach (overnight in Gasthaus). 17 September Weissenbach to – Kaumberg – Araburg(lunch) – Kieneck (1107m) –Enzienhuette- Unteberg: overnight in hut. 18 September Unterberg – Rohr im Gebirge – Kalte Kuchl(lunch) – St. Aegyd (overnight in Gasthaus) 19 September: St. Aegyd – Gscheid – Wuchtlwirtin(lunch) – Buergeralpe(1266m) – Mariazell.

Meet: Wednesday 16 September at 8:00 a.m. in Rodaun (at the stop of Tram 60)

Return: 19 September evening between 9 and 10 p.m.. Let me know if you want to stay one more night in Mariazell

Cost: Club fees, Train ticket plus 3 overnights and food (approximately 120 Eur plus food). When you register you will need to transfer 30 Euros to me to hold the reservation for the hut. If you cancel you will lose 15 Euro

Registration: By August 30

*Note: Limited to 9 participants. For experienced walkers. We will be walking about 30 km a day mainly on mountain paths and over hills. Good overall condition and be prepared to carry your own staff (app 10 kg with water). You carry everything in your backpack for the four days. Bring light sleeping bag for the overnight in the hut. Bring membership for Austrian Alpine Club if you have one. Wear good hiking boots, walking sticks recommended. *
