Description: From Mayerling, where we can have a look at the hunting lodge of the crown prince Rudolf, we shall climb Hoher Lindkogel, the main peak of the Southern Vianna woods. From the view tower we can discover the near and far mountains, as far as Schneeberg.
Route: Mayerling – Bischofsmütze – Alland Riegel – Hoher Lindkogel (847m, lunch in hute) – Ruine Merkenstein – Gainfarn

Meet: 8:20 a.m. Bahnhof Wien Meidling (U6), near ticket office/machines; train leaves at 8:37; from Baden we shall take the bus to Mayerling
Return: By bus from Gainfarn to Baden; return to Vienna at around 7 p.m.
Cost: Approx. EUR 15 for train and bus fares
