31st October 2020: Triesting - Traisental Valley Bike Tour

Corona: Please follow the recommendations of the alpine associations of Austria, English translation on ACV (Alpine Club Vienna)

Hike Leader: Class: 60km with 600m elevation+

We will discover the beauties of one of the most popular bike roads of Lower Austria. The variable landscapes of this tour offer spectacular views of valleys, the rushing rivers and alpine mountains like Gerichtsberg and Altenmarkt.

We will visit the Araburg Castle Ruin and also the Klein Mariazell Basilica+enjoy the changing colours of the automn. :-)

Total Distance: 65km
Total Elevation gain: 600m
Highest point: 701m

Average speed: approx. 18-20km/h

Bike: either mountain bike or city bike or gravel – the terrain is not quite suitable for road bikes.

Equipment: pls bring raincoat just in case. Also warmer clothes in case the weather changes.

Fitness level: this ride is for those who have cycled before more than 4hrs and are having a good fitness level.

Food+Drinks: bring enough food with you for a picnic. The plan is to stop by a Gasthaus about half way and then in our final destination in Traisen to celebrate our arrival.

Route: Leobersdorf – Berndorf – Weissenbach an der Triesting – Altenmarkt – Kaumberg – Ramsau – Hainfeld – St Veit – Traisen


Wien Hauptbahnhof 8:40 am, train leaves at 8:59.

From Traisen there is a train every hour. But roughly around 5-6pm.

Cost: Train Ticket (roughly 20EUR)+Gasthaus
