Saturday, 20 June: Cycling Wiener Neustaedter Kanal
Description: The canal was planned in the late 18th century as a waterway between Vienna and Trieste. But only the first section, from Vienna to Wiener Neustadt, was completed. The remaining 500 km were not built for economic reasons. Railways turned out to be faster and more economic. Now there is a bicycle trail along the canal between Vienna and Wiener Neustadt
Route: Vienna – Inzersdorf – Laxenburg – Guntramsdorf – Bad Voeslau – Kottingbrunn. Depending on weather conditions we can either go to the thermal bath in Bad Voeslau or do additional cycling in the Region.

Meet: At 9:30 a.m. in front of Karlskirche, Karlsplatz (U1, U2, U4)
Return: Late afternoon by Schnellbahn from Bad Voeslau
Cost: Ca. EUR 5.- for Train fare and bicycle transport
Registration: By Thursday, 18 June, to hike leader
Note: Bring Snacks and Drinks, rainwear; make sure your bicycle in in good condition.
