Sunday, 29 May 2016: Unterberg (1342 m) /Gutenstein Alps
Description: Great scenic hike across wooded hills up to rocky mountains. We will explore varied vegetation zones: light pine woods, vigorous deciduous forests and flower covered alpine meadows. Unterberg is an impressive peak with a complete panorama of the Alps. We will enjoy a late lunch at 2:30 p.m. in the cosy Unterberg hut (with Bavarian titbits!). Finally we will do an easy descent to Myralucke.
Route: Ramsental Kapelle (647 m) – Bettelmannkreuz (952 m) – Kirchwaldberg (1067) – Unterberg summit (1342 m) – Unterberg hut (1187 m) – Blauboden – Myralucke (694 m). By taxi to railway station Pernitz-Muggendorf

Meet: 8:40 a.m. railway station Wien Meidling/U6 Philadelphiabrücke, near ticket centre. Return ticket Wien to Pernitz-Muggendorf with Vorteilscard. Railjet departs at 9:05 to Wiener Neustadt arr. 9:28/R-train for Gutenstein dep. at 9:33 to Pernitz-Muggendorf arr.10:21. By taxi bus via Muggendorf to Lamweg.
Return: 8 p.m. Wien Meidling
Cost: About € 22, – train fare with Vorteilscard and taxi bus.

Note: Clothing according to weather conditions, wear good hiking boots, take with you hiking poles and bring some drinks and snacks: late lunch!
