Description: The area of this hike is the border between Wald- and Weinviertel. In the beginning we walk across an enormous quarry, then through romantic woods until we reach Burgschleinitz, an old castle in a big pond. Next stop is Maissau with a marvellous view into the Weinviertel. On our way back to Limberg we pass by the village of Oberdürnbach. The fans of classical music will know Gottfried von Einem, a famous composer, who died there in 1996.

Route: Limberg – Gänsgraben – Burgschleinitz – Maissau – Oberdürnbach – Limberg

Meet: 8.10 a.m. station Spittelau at the ticket counters (train leaves at 8.31)

Return: Spittelau around 6.00 p.m.

Cost: Einfach Raus Ticket. Price depends on the number of participants, approx. 10-11 EUR.

Note: Bring rainwear, snacks and drinks. Lunch will be in Maissau in a Gasthaus.
