17th - 19th February 2017: Cross Country Skiing in Bad Mitterndorf
Description: The area around Bad Mitterndorf/Tauplitz/Kainisch (ca. 800m altitude), Steiermark, offers more than 80 km of cross country tracks (Loipe). We shall stay in a Pension in Bad Mitterndorf, near the Loipe, and explore as much of the Region as possible; more info under www.bad-mitterndorf.at
Route: Will be discussed on a daily Basis (10 to 20 km).

Meet: Friday, 17 February, at 7:40 a.m. Wien Meidling (next to ticket Office); Train departs at 7:57 a.m.
Return: By train from Bad Mitterndorf, leaving at 4:00 p.m., arriving Vienna at 8:00 p.m.
Cost: Ca. EUR 60.- for train fare (with Vorteilscard), some taxi sharing; ca. EUR 40.- for B&B, food, fees for Loipe (EUR 5./day) and for Hiking Club (EUR 14.). Altogether ca. EUR 250.- for three days. Additional day(s) possible.

Note: Skies should preferably be rented in Vienna. Clothing according to weather forecast; bring drink (thermos) and some Snacks. Meals will be taken in Gasthauses. Swimming gear if you want to go to the thermal bath.
