2nd August 2015: Hohe Wand - Gauermannmuseum

Description: Through woods and farmland along the valley between Hohe Wand and Dürre Wand we shall reach Scheuchenstein. There we shall have a late lunch and visit the Gauermann Museum. Gauermann was a painter from the Biedermaier age, 1st half 19th century. His paintings, some of them are also exhibited at the Belvedere, concentrate on landscapes, animals and dramatic cloud formations in the region of Miesenbach, where the painter was born.

Route: Reichental – Waidmannsfeld – Zur Schönen Aussicht – Miesenbach – Scheuchenstein – Gauermannmuseum – Rastkreuzsattel – Grünbach am Schneeberg

Meet: 8:20 a.m. Wien Meidling (U6), near the ticket machines. Train to Wiener Neustadt departs at 8:35. From there we take the train in direction Gutenstein.

Return: By Train from Grünbach am Schneeberg at 5:51 or at 6:51 p.m., arriving Vienna Meidling 1 1/2 hours later.

Cost: Einfach Raus Ticket ca. 7-10 Euros per Person (depending on number of participants). Plus lunch in Gasthaus, entrance fee to Gauermann Museum
