Description: The Handlesberg (1370m), located on the “westend” of the Gutensteiner Alpen, is a rather lonesome mountain. Without a hut/Gasthaus enroute it remains a “Geheimtipp” for nature lovers.
Route: Gscheiderwirt – Pax – Bodingschneide – Wildföhrenstein – Handlesberg (1370m) – Grubenfranzl – Schwarzau im Gebirge (Gasthaus)

Meet: 6:40 a.m. Bahnhof Meidling (U6), near the ticket machines. Train departs at 6:56. Bus from Payerbach Reichenau at 8:40 to Schwarzau/Gscheiderwirt.
Return: By bus and Train from Schwarzau via Payerbach Reichenau to Vienna; Arrival Meidling at around 8:00 p.m.
Cost: Ca. 20 Euros for train (einfach raus ticket) and bus tickets.
Registration: By 27 August to leader
Note: This hike will take place only in good weather. Changes possible. Bring Food and drink for picknic (no hut enroute), hiking boots, appropriate clothing, rainwear.
