April 22: Photowalk Retz – Austrian-Czech border area
Description:
Lovely old Retz, vineyards, a spectacular meander of the Thaya and the endless village green of Unterretzbach. Plus the old Iron Curtain patrol road and Czech fortifications of the 1930s. THIS WALK REPLACES THE ZNOJMO PHOTOWALK (POSTPONED TO LATE SEPTEMBER).
Route:
Retz – Retzbach (Heiliger Stein) – Hnanice (lunch) – Unterretzbach.
Map:
Podyjí-Thayatal 1:50.000, Shocart.
Meet:
Floridsdorf station hall at the ticket machines, 08.45. Train to Retz leaves 09.11. We will get Enfach Raus tickets. Please be on time, so that I know the exact size of the group.
Return:
To Floridsdorf, 18.17.
Cost:
Depends on the number of participants per Einfach Raus ticket, but EU 13 at most. Plus minibus Retz – Retzbach.
Registration:
To the hike leader by April 19. Please join this hike only if you intend to contribute to the Flickr album. If you have a tablet you might want to bring it so that we can compare photos over a glass of wine before taking the train home.
Note:
- DO NOT FORGET YOUR PASSPORT; CHECK WHETHER YOU NEED A VISA.
- Comfortable footwear essential. Do not forget your waterproof jacket.
