Long Weekend 15-18 September 2016: Pilgrimage Vienna to Mariazell
Description: We walk four days along one of the most famous pilgrimages in Austria from the outskirts of Vienna to Mariazell. Our route is approximately 110 kilometers over the four days.
*Route: 15 Sept: Rodaun – Kammersteinerhuette – Heiligenkreuz (lunch) – Hafnerberg – Klein Mariazell (overnight in Gasthaus). 16 Sept: Klein Mariazell – Kaumberg – Araburg(lunch) – Kieneck (1107m) – Unterberghaus(1165m) overnight in hut. 17 Sept: Unterberghaus – Rohr im Gebirge – Kalte Kuchl(lunch) – St. Aegyd (overnight in gasthaus) 18 Sept: St. Aegyd – Gscheid – Wuchtlwirtin(lunch) – Buergeralpe(1266m) – Mariazell.*

Meet: Thursday 15 Sept at 8:00 a.m. Hietzing U4 at stop of Tram 60
Return: Sunday 18 Sept evening between 9 and 10 p.m. to Westbahnhof.
Cost: Train plus 3 overnights and food (approximately 100 Eur plus food)
Registration: to hike leader by e-mail by 8 September (to assure time for accommodation reservations)
Note: Bring Austrian style sleeping bag for overnight in hut. Bring membership for Austrian Alpine Club if you have one. Bring snacks and wear good hiking boots. You carry everything in your backpack for the four days.
