Sunday 25 February 2018: Lainzer Tiergarten (local Vienna hike)
*Description:*Vienna newcomers will particularly enjoy hiking in the nature reserve where wild boar, deer and stags inhabit the terrain. We will take a route through the park along broad trails, enjoy strands of beech and oak trees, pass by a former imperial hunting lodge (Hermesvilla), and enjoy sweeping views of Vienna.
*Route:*Lainzer Tor (265m) – Hermesvilla – Herbertuswarte/Kaltbrundlberg (508m) – Hirschgstemm – Rohrhaus (for lunch) – Nikolaitor (218).

*Meet:*10.00 at Wien Mainzer Tor, at entrance gate. Routing from Westhahnhof (U6) take tram 60 then transfer to Hermesstraße, Bus 55A to Lainzer Tor. From Hietzing (U4) take bus 56A to Wien Dr.-Schoberstraße then transfer to 55A to Lainzer Tor.
*Return:*15.00-16.00 (Hutteldorf end connection of the U4)
*Cost:*No cost for park entrance, only expense is your public transport.
*Registration:*By Thursday, 22 February to hike leader. Please indicate in the notes your full name please.
*Note:*We will stop for lunch around 13.00 at Rohrhaus. If crowded, lunch may take 1+ hour. Bring snacks and drinks as needed. Clothing according to weather. Please note in your registration if you need further assistance with public transport.
